Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration

The HVAC/R program highlights the skills needed for a student to begin work at the entry level for residential or light commercial companies.  The proliferation of these kinds of jobs offers many employment opportunities in home, office buildings, manufacturing, space ships, under sea labs, and the military.  Working from blueprints and following design specifications, the technician connects duct work, refrigerant lines and other piping, and does required electrical work to connect motors and control instruments. The technician also charges all units with the proper refrigerant and provides start-up and customer education.  Students in HVAC/R progress through a curriculum at a rate best suited to their learning styles.  They are prepared for job titles including installer, helper, and service mechanic.
