welcome

Dear Parents & Students,

Our mission is to fully and comprehensively prepare, support, and assist students to become independent, productive, self-fulfilled, lifelong learners that contribute to our school, the community and our society. School counselors are concerned with the students’ total development: intellectually, physically, emotionally and socially. The six counselors, along with a Student Assistance Counselor, advocate for our students in a variety of personal, social and educational roles. Our responsibility to prepare learners to live and work in an evolving society. We view counseling as a team effort which consists of counselors, administrators, teachers, support staff, parents and students.

As we begin the school year, the School Counseling/Guidance Department at BCIT Westampton would like to welcome back all our students from what was hopefully a healthy, restful, and productive summer. Additionally, we would like to extend a warm welcome to all our new incoming students. We are glad each of you has chosen BCIT and we look forward to working with all of you throughout the year. The school counseling/guidance program is designed to assist students not only in preparation for college, post-secondary training, or employment but in achieving the skills and knowledge to mature into adults. As you prepare to for the 2020-2021 school year, we want you to think about what motivates you.

Helping students reach their fullest potential is our ultimate goal!
