ixl

XL (from "I excel") is a math practice website for K-12 (subscription based). It has unlimited computer-adaptive questions on thousands of math topics and a comprehensive reporting system.

All BCIT students enrolled in a math class have free access to the IXL program.

  1. Navigate to www.ixl.com

  2. Enter your username and password in the upper right-hand corner.

Username: first initial, last initial, student ID, @bcit

Example: Cameron Lightner has a student ID number of 123456.  The username for this student will be CL123456@bcit

Password: algebra

SAT Prep

Here's a list of free SAT prep resources for students:

1. Khan Academy: Offers full-length digital practice tests developed with the College Board, thousands of practice questions, videos, lessons, and test-taking strategies. Provides personalized feedback on your progress.

2. College Board: The official SAT website offers a daily question, sample questions, tutorials, and practice tests. It's a reliable source for official SAT materials.

3. The Princeton Review: Provides free full-length practice tests with detailed score reports, free webinars on college-related topics, and a 14-day free trial of their self-paced SAT prep program.

4. Kaplan: Offers a free full-length SAT practice test with detailed score reports, a daily question, and a "20-Minute Workout" featuring 12 exam-style questions with explanations.

5. Varsity Tutors: Offers a free two-week SAT prep class online, covering all four SAT sections. Includes access to a mobile test prep app, practice exams, and personalized learning plans.

6. Erik the Red: A website run by a math and physics tutor, offering math facts, formulas, strategies, and online quizzes specifically for the SAT Math section.
