Dr. Andrew McAlpin

Adult Education Principal

Dr. Andrew McAlpin is a dedicated educator and passionate advocate for Career and Technical Education (CTE). As Principal of Adult Education at the Burlington County Institute of Technology, he is committed to spreading the message that a rewarding, viable career is within everyone’s reach. Dr. McAlpin believes that career pathways should be accessible, personalized, and empowering for every learner across Burlington County.

Throughout his career, Dr. McAlpin has served in various educational and leadership roles, including CTE Supervisor, Automotive Technology Instructor, Professional Learning Community Leader, New Teacher Mentor, Robotics Coach, Varsity Baseball Coach, and Cooperative Education Coordinator for Hazardous Occupations. Before transitioning to public education, he managed technical training for Audi’s Eastern Region and held status as an ASE Master Technician—later achieving elite industry honors as a Master Guild and Distinguished Expert.

Dr. McAlpin holds a Doctor of Education in Teacher Leadership with a focus in Digital Transformation from Capella University, a Master’s in Educational Leadership from Seton Hall University, and a Bachelor of Technical Studies from Thomas Edison State University.

At the core of his leadership is a simple yet powerful framework he calls the Three F’s:

  • Fit – Does the program align with the learner’s interests and strengths?

  • Feel – Does the career path feel right and bring confidence and comfort?

  • Financial – Can we support students in making their career financially possible?

As he leads the Adult Education team into the future, Dr. McAlpin is focused on aligning programs with emerging technologies, building industry partnerships, and fostering flexible, skills-driven pathways that help every student meet their career goals with purpose and confidence.
